Ramiro de Maeztu en estas paginas, publicadas en la revista Acción Española entre el número 1 (diciembre de 1931) y el 45 (enero de 1934), se encarga de darle la importancia que merecen a todos aquellos valores que guiaron tanto a monarcas como súbditos en la España de los siglos XVI y XVII, entre los que se pueden mencionar la gran valoración que tenían la fe y las obras, la íntima relación que se dio entre el poder temporal y espiritual, que los lanzó a realizar una obra jamás lograda en la historia de la humanidad.
La España del siglo XVI encarna los más altos ideales que un hombre pudo representar y a través del rescate de esos mismos ideales propone que sólo volviendo a ellos y empaparse nuevamente de los mismos, podrán hacer de La Hispanidad (no sólo España, sino todo pueblo que recibió su influencia) tan grande como antaño, volver sus ojos a la patria y no a realidades extranjeras que les son ajenas por naturaleza. The Spain of the 16th century personifies the highest ideal that a man could represent and across the rescue of the same ideal ones he proposes that only returning to them and to soak again in the same ones, they will be able to do of The Spanishness (not only Spain, but every people that received his influence) so big as long ago, to turn his eyes to the mother land and not to foreign realities that they are foreign for nature.
